EBNHC Participates in White Ribbon Campaign to Prevent Domestic Violence

March 7, 2011, East Boston, MA—Jack Cradock, President and CEO of East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC), announced last week that the health center will participate in the White Ribbon Campaign, an initiative where men make a pledge to never commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women and girls. EBNHC has purchased ribbons to support the cause, and the health center’s staff is actively involved in recruiting and signing up individuals to make the pledge.

“Violence against women and girls has no place in our community; it has no place in any community,” says Jack Cradock, President and CEO of EBNHC. “We are proud to marshal our resources and do everything we can to support this initiative.”

The campaign is sponsored by Jane Doe, Inc., the Massachusetts statewide coalition to prevent and abolish domestic violence. The Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers is helping to coordinate the campaign among health centers.

A Massachusetts White Ribbon Day rally was held at the Massachusetts State House on March 5, 2011. EBNHC staff members participated in the rally.

The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC) has been a vital part of its community for over 40 years, providing easily accessible, high-quality health care to all who live and work in East Boston and the surrounding communities of Chelsea, Revere, Everett, and Winthrop. EBNHC handles 300,000 patient visits per year—more than any other ambulatory care center in New England.
