Applicant qualifications
- Graduate of accredited masters or doctorate-level program. Applicant must be within two years of graduation from their nurse practitioner program at time of application.
- Board Certified by AANP or ANCC
- Applicant must be a citizen of the US or a foreign national with a Visa permitting permanent residency in the US or a non-citizen national. Individuals on temporary or student visas are not eligible.
- All applicants are required to have their MA Advanced Practice License, Federal DEA, and MA Controlled Substances Registration (MCSR) prior to starting clinical sessions. Preference is given to applicants who have taken or scheduled their certification exam. If your Advanced Practice License is not available at the time of application, please submit a letter from your program stating that you are in good standing and expect to be eligible to test for national certification.

Application process
- Complete the online application and upload all required documents.
- Applicants are screened by the FNP Residency selection committee.
- After screening, applicants may be invited for interviews.
- Once accepted into the residency, applicants will meet all employment requirements of their residency employer and must provide their NPI to NeighborHealth.
Application requirements & documents
- Provide the contact information of three clinical references. These references should be from a current employer, faculty member, or preceptor.
- Complete the online residency application, which includes a personal statement, and upload all required documents (Word document, PDF, or .jpg). If you cannot provide a document on the list, provide a statement of its status where indicated.
- Two letters of recommendation. These letters of recommendation should specifically address your capabilities and interests related to this Residency Program. Letters should be addressed to the FNP Residency Selection Committee (Word document or PDF).

- Copy of professional diploma (BSN, MSN)
- Copy of RN and NP Massachusetts license
- Board Certification (ANCC/AANP)
- MA Advanced Practice License or letter from your program
Important dates
- January 2024: Application period opens
- February 29, 2024: Applications due
- Late February/early March 2024: Interviews conducted
- April 1, 2024: Applicants notified of acceptance status
- September 3, 2024: Residency begins
