Community-based health care makes a difference
- About NeighborHealth
- Commitment to community
NeighborHealth has been a vital part of our communities since we opened our doors over 50 years ago. We are among the largest community-focused healthcare networks in the country, ensuring equitable, high-quality, and culturally relevant services across all communities we serve.
How we assess the needs of our communities
To be sure we are providing the programs and resources our neighbors need, NeighborHealth conducts collaborative assessments and planning forums to fully understand the wellness and healthcare experiences of our communities.

Nourishing our community
Good health starts in your community. That’s why NeighborHealth works with families and individuals where they live to address hunger and malnutrition.
- Through seasonal farmers markets and our Community Resource and Wellness Center, families in the Greater Boston area have access to groceries and other necessities each week.
- Older adults can enroll in our home-delivered meals program through the Senior Care Options or NeighborHood PACE.
- Our onsite WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) program provides nutrition and health education, healthy food, and other services to thousands of families each year – and it’s free of charge to Massachusetts families who qualify.
Protecting our community
NeighborHealth leads and participates in collaborative public safety programs, including:
- HUB is a violence intervention and prevention model made up of community organizations to ensure families and individuals are safe, healthy and have the opportunity to thrive. The HUB works with individuals and families facing complex challenges and needing services from more than one community agency.
- Community Healing Response Network provides rapid crisis response services for individuals, families, and communities impacted by community violence. The network provides short term case management, coping groups, psychological first aid, and consultation services.
