WIC is a nutrition program that provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare and other services, free of charge, to Massachusetts families who qualify.
WIC’s goal is to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, new moms, and kids under 5 years old healthy. WIC provides:
- Personalized nutrition and breastfeeding information, consultations, and support
- WIC EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) card to buy free, healthy food. A WICShopper mobile app that details WIC benefits, indicates WIC-eligibility of store items, and locates WIC-eligible items by store is available. Download the WICShopper app.
- Tips for eating well to improve health
- Referrals for medical and dental care, health insurance, child care, housing and fuel assistance, and other services that benefit the whole family

Do I qualify?
You can participate in WIC if you:
- Live in Massachusetts
- Have a nutritional need (our WIC staff can help you determine this)
- Are a child under 5, a new mom, or a pregnant or breastfeeding woman
- Have a family income less than WIC guidelines. You are automatically income eligible for WIC if you currently receive:
