NeighborHealth’s Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Residency Program is a 12-month, full-time, salaried postgraduate training program designed for PMHNP Residents seeking advanced clinical and professional development in community-focused psychiatric care. The Residency provides structured, supervised, hands-on clinical training and didactics to support new graduates (within 18 months of graduation) in delivering individualized, evidence-based, patient centered psychiatric care across the lifespan, while respecting patients’ backgrounds, needs, preferences, and life experiences.

• Precepted clinical sessions across multiple sites and departments, including general psychiatry, integrated behavioral health, Pediatric Psychiatry, Recovery Services, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Behavioral Health Urgent Care.
• Allocated time for administrative clinical follow-up, didactic learning, and QI projects.

  • Two letters of recommendation that specifically address your capabilities and interests related to this residency program. Letters should be addressed to the PMHNP Residency Selection Committee (PDF).

  • Official transcript and a copy of the professional diploma (BSN, MSN)
  • Copy of RN and NP Massachusetts license and Board Certification (ANCC/AANP)
• Applicants are screened by the PMHNP Residency Selection Committee. After screening, applicants may be invited for interviews.
• Once accepted into the residency, applicants will meet all employment requirements of their residency employer and must provide their NPI to NeighborHealth.
